Massage Services Policy Guidelines and Procedures for Safe and Professional Massage Services

2. Scope
This policy applies to all staff, contractors, and clients receiving or providing massage services at our facility.
3. Eligibility
- Clients must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. ·
- Clients must complete a health intake form prior to their first session.
- Massage therapists must hold valid, current certification and licensure as required by state and local regulations.
4. Scheduling, Late Arrivals, and Cancellations
- Appointments should be scheduled in advance, subject to therapist availability.
- Service for clients who arrive late will be reduced by the number of minutes by which the client is late. For example, if you are scheduled for 1 hour but you arrive 15 minutes late, your service duration will be 45 minutes – not 1 hour.
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
- No-shows or late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) may incur a fee as per the facility’s posted rates.
5. Code of Conduct
- All interactions must be respectful and professional at all times.
- Any inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to sexual advances or harassment, will result in immediate termination of the session and possible banning from future services.
- Clients and therapists are expected to maintain appropriate personal hygiene.
6. Confidentiality
All client information, including health history and session notes, will be kept confidential in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
7. Informed Consent
- Therapists will explain the nature and purpose of the massage, including areas to be worked on and techniques to be used.
- Clients have the right to ask questions and withdraw consent or stop the session at any time.
- Written informed consent is required before the first session and must be updated annually or if there are significant changes to health status.
8. Health and Safety
- Therapists must wash hands thoroughly before and after each session.
- All linens and equipment must be cleaned and sanitized between clients.
- Massage will not be provided if the client or therapist is ill, has a contagious condition, or presents contraindications for massage.
9. Payment
- Fees for massage services are due at the time of service unless prior arrangements are made.
- Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit/debit cards, or other methods as posted by the facility.
10. Reporting Concerns
